Piezoelectric sensing: what is it?

piezoelectric

Piezoelectric sensors are transducers that are able to convert a mechanical vibration into an electric signal which can, in turn, be converted into digital data, sent wirelessly to a data analytics board.

Piezoelectric materials really make things talk! The signal they provide is the result of the energy conversion, therefor they do not need power for them to function, and that makes them very versatile. In addition, Piezoskin's piezoelectric sensors are biocompatible and ultra thin and flexible, making them the best fit for non invasive monitoring.

Piezoelectric sensors are also used to generate electric power the sensing system. Having a monitoring system without batteries is not a dream anymore!
